Work Smart, Be Smart

This is the age of efficiency and effectiveness. Professional maritime operators must streamline workload while optimize fuel usage. Krill’s new SmartTug software not only displays real-time fuel efficiency data, but with the power of Krill's SQL database you’ll have the ability to record the start and stop points of a particular trip and send that data directly to operation headquarters.

SmartTug's trip type pull-down menu makes it easy.

Fleet management operators and commercial vessel owners quickly receive on-the-spot, trip log data from their captain for fast and  accurate readings to calculate profitability per job with a push of a single button.

The captain enters the trip ID number, select the trip type from the pull-down menu: Idle, Stand by, Towing, Pushing, Return.  When the captain is ready to start his trip the green ‘Start’ button is selected and the trip log begins. The trip log records all sensor inputs:  the start/stop date and time, the time elapsed per trip, total fuel consumed per trip, remaining fuel, the average speed per trip, and the efficiency of each trip. Once the captain completes the task and hits ‘Stop’, that data is sent to the operation HQ. SmartTug determines the running fuel rate efficiency for each trip instantly.

The First NMEA 2000 Historical Sensor Database

From our database to yours

SmartTug includes support for storing all collected sensor data from NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183 and KrillSensor Pods. Krill has the first NMEA 2000 vessel monitoring database. If you have existing NMEA 2000 sensors data from FloScan, Furuno, Maretron, Navico, Garmin we can display, collect and store the data as never see before.

Utilizing an industry standard SQL database server, up to 6 months of sensor data can be stored and displayed in an intuitive graphical user interface.

The interface consists of an overview window that shows the overall trend of up to any 6 sensors at a time. By adjusting a sliding shaded selection window over the overview display, a detailed graph is shown above for in depth analysis of the sensor of interest. Up to the second, real time streaming sensor data can also be displayed.

Latest Graphic Technology for Vessel Display Customization

SmartTug was written to take advantage of the latest Graphical Display Technology. Using your AutoCAD file SmartTug's display will give true customization as never before.

Vessel Active Alerts and Security Log

Equipment failure is often the result of series of cascading events that is caused by other conditions. A shore power outage, for example, may cause the house battery bank to discharge, which in turn prevents the bilge pump from operating correctly. The root cause of the problem can easily be traced back by examining the sensor data base.
